Farm Happenings for November 12, 2019

Posted on November 9th, 2019 by Lisa Duff

Good Morning!

We're a bit delayed in sending this week's list. We were busy covering up crops and harvesting all tender crops yesterday before the hard frost. The ground is crispy white out there this am.

We harvested all the baby fennel, most all the purple and red sweet potatoes, the rest of the head lettuce, bok choi and beets. I turned on the propane for the heated high tunnel to make sure the heater was working. It worked fine after I blew the old bird's nest out of it!

This is the last week you will see bok choi, fennel, beets and head lettuce so get your fill! We have plenty of fresh ginger. Remember you can freeze it, pickle it or candy it!  It's delicious grated in tea or atop an asian style sauté with sesame oil and soy sauce.

Bon Apetit!

Thank you, as always, for your support.

Stay warm!
