Smile it's Spring! Farm Happenings for March 29, 2022

Posted on March 25th, 2022 by Lisa Duff

So a little bit of a dip in the temperatures for this weekend!  Alas, not to worry, most of your produce is coming from the high tunnels!

I'll be out Sunday afternoon double covering all the tender new transplants of bok choi, lettuce, kale, collards, chard, beets, endive and parsley to keep them from too much damage from severe Sunday night temps ...fingers crossed.

Remember to bring your bags back to your drop spot this week-label intact.

On Farm folks - bring your own bag for our market style pick up. Extra eggs, cheese, butter, ground beef, various produce and dried apples will be for sale on farm!

This is the 2nd week of Spring CSA. Spring CSA lasts 7 weeks, then a one week break, then your 26 week Whole Season CSA begins.

Mark your calendars for every Tuesday so you don't miss your veggie pick up! It's up to you to make arrangements for any changes after 3pm Sunday.

Yes! your friend can pick up your bag for you!

Please let me know if you have any questions about the logistics of CSA. IF you are new please be sure to whitelist Harvie by adding this email address to your address book.

Thanks so much and remember..

Eat your greens

*if you can't eat them all in a week's time take 5 minutes (or less) to throw your extra spinach, kale, chard, bok choi in a freezer bag, squeeze out the air and pop it in the freezer for a smoothie, soup or stew another week.

Need some ideas for how to use that kale?  Check out this blog Kale Yeah!

Ok, have a great week and reach out with any questions, comments or concerns!
