Here Comes Your First Spring CSA share!

Posted on March 17th, 2022 by Lisa Duff

Hello Farm-ily!

Welcome to your 7 week Spring share. We are so excited to get started!

Mother Nature is smiling upon us this week.  Greens are coming from our high tunnels except the sweet, flavorful over wintered spinach. Lots of greens in your Spring share sprinkled with roots like baby radishes, overwintered carrots, spring onions and some storage veggies from Siwik Family and Good Dog Farms.

Now let's go over a few housekeeping details:

-For our drop spots we give you 2 insulated cooler bags per season to make pick up convenient & classy.

Please bring back your bag each week with the label intact  Please return all bags to the same area you pick up your bag.

IF you have bags from last year please send them along, we will make good use of them!

Please read: It is your responsibility to pick up your share within the time given. I chose the Harvie platform for it's high customer convenience and flexibility. Please use Harvie for all changes.

Harvie allows you to make multiple changes to your share every week. You can change your pick up location or skip your delivery - but you have to make those changes by Sunday at 3pm before Tuesday delivery.

Shares are harvested on Monday. Once the share leaves the farm Tuesday am it is out of our hands. With respect for everyone involved please do not call or text Lisa the day of delivery with last minute changes. Make sure your phone number is up to date and accurate so the drop location can contact you with any last minute info. Use the phone number of your drop location for an emergency situation where you just can't pick up your bag. Bags left beyond pick up time are donated to employees of the site or a local food pantry. Yes! A friend can pick up you bag for you!

Please get to know Harvie. It is super helpful (for both you and me) when you know how to use it.

We grow food because we LOVE and believe in how and what we grow. We want to give you the best food we can and build community at the same time.

If something isn't what you thought it was or should be or if you are missing something from your bag please let us know.

We love compliments and we appreciate constructive criticism, do share.

Please join the private FB Farm-ily page. Be sure to answer the questions so I can identify you as a CSA member. This is a private page to help you exchange information, learn about the farm, share with like minded folks and build community. Please participate!

Also follow us on the social media outlet of your choice -FaceBook or Instagram- to see videos and lots of photos of what we're doing and how we're growing both food and community!

If your customized box doesn't sing to you make sure your preferences are set accurately and then further customize weekly- you have until 3pm Sunday.

You will be eating your greens this Spring. It's super fresh, nutrient dense and yes, Certified Organic! Freeze spinach & kale, make a quiche or saute it for a side dish with eggs for breakfast or  dinner.

Kale is a superfood! See our BLOG on kale to get inspired!

Please reach out by replying to this email if you have questions, comments or curiosities !
