Farm Share Week 10 - Halfway

Posted on August 9th, 2021 by Kim Barker

Hi farm friends!

Week 10 marks the halfway point in our 20 week season.

THANK YOU so much for being on the journey with us so far!

We really value our farm share members. When you commit to the season with us, you share in the risks of farming with us. Just like us, you don't know what will grow well or what might be subject to the mercies of the weather, insects, or poor soil. This is a relationship that allows us to take on the risks of farming, to invest into our operation (becoming more productive, more efficient), to employ others, and to support our growing family. Farming is no easy task and going into it knowing we have your support gives us courage and drive. So, please accept our heartfelt thanks. We hope you enjoy the second half of our season!

Veggie Highlights This Week

Tomatoes are starting to be happy and ripe out there in the greenhouse. The amount we have available will continue to expand over the next weeks. Cucumbers and zucchinis are on their way out - but we have another planting on the way. Peppers continue to ripen in the field and fall brassicas are growing. Our garlic is almost cured now - make sure to keep it somewhere cool and dry (not the fridge) for best storage.

Happy eating!

Your farmer,

Kim
