On The Farm This Week

Posted on June 5th, 2021 by Katherine Nietmann

We hope you enjoyed your first week of produce!  Feedback - positive or negative - is always welcome!

It was hot this week, but that didn't slow us down!  Our crew cranked through some 90+ degree days (when it's easily over 100 in the high tunnels), and our produce grew in leaps and bounds with ample water and TLC (much like our daughter).  As a result, we are proud to offer the first summer squash this week, as well as sugar snap peas and new potatoes in addition to what we had available last week.  Basil and lettuce heads are on a short break while the next plantings mature.  Our celery is off the charts sweet and crunchy, perfect for snacking on a hot afternoon.

We're focusing our energy on picking these days, as many crops need to be picked multiple times each week.  It always feels like our time to get non-production tasks done disappears once we start picking daily, but we welcome the busyness and relish feeding you all with the best we have to offer.

Enjoy your week and as always, eat well.
