Farm Happenings for September 2, 2020

Posted on August 31st, 2020 by Mike Milsom

Welcome to MGH's Farm Happening ...the Labour day edition.  Woot.

Now before I begin to wax philosphically... it has come to my attention that some of you actually do things and go places. Particularily on a long weekend.  And while you have collective decided to to take me along, many of you like to take our vegetables with you.  So to do our part to get you to your cottage on time  and to take a little bit of pressure off of our new driver (that would be me) we are offering a few alternatives.

Please read with tremendous care. All choices must be made known to us at the farm by Tuesday evening. That would be tomorrow :-)

Option 1:  The already established Farm Pick up.  This is on Wednesday from 3'ish to 6pm at 436 River Road. Treat yourself and show up early for the full line up experience.

Option 2: Thursday Farm Pick up at the wagon.  From 10 am to 11am.  After 11am there will be no one here at the farm.

Option 3: Friday Farm Pick Up at the wagon. Also, from 10am to 11am.  Again, no one is here past 11am as i am hoping we are well underway doing deliveries.

So...a good week. Tomatoes are coming in strong now. Zucchini is fading a bit. Still a ton of patty pans. Beans look good and the swang song of the zukes and cukes is still doing their thing.  Will take a run at potatoes...should be dry enough.  A story there but we will save it for another time. Onion tops are starting to lodge and turn brown but there are plenty still nice and green for this week's harvest.  Lettuce ofcourse and hopefully raddish. Herbs are looking a little war torn but we'll see what we have.  Fair warning...you the bunch of herb you asked for swapped for another on the fly. We are really trying not to do that..but sometimes, in the heat of putting a share out ...it happens.   Fall carrots will be special this year.  Stay tuned.

I have to get this out ..so we'll call it here.  Thank you folks for everything. Particularily the patience as we went through a very ..very short staffing last week.  Back to full strength (or close to it) so things will be hopefully a lot less exciting.    Enjoy your share, your weekend. God Bless and play safe.
