Fall Share Week 3!

It's hard to believe it is already the third week of the fall share. We're excited to see a few new crops come in. Some you'll recognize from the spring (if you weren't familiar with them already), like salad turnips and radishes. Bok choy is also back, and it's looking pretty delicious. Collards are new to the fall season, and they are such an underrated green to cook with, in our opinion!

We did get some local certified organic winter squash (delicata/acorn) as ours didn't store well, and you'll see those as options to swap into your share this week. 

COLLARD GREENS

Collard Salad with Walnuts, Pecorino and Mustard Vinnaigrette - Little-known fact: raw collards are delicious and make the best fall salads.

Johnnycakes with Leeks & Collards - This recipe would also work perfectly with turnip greens if you'd like to use your collards in something more collard-centric!  


You'll also see MILK from Apple Valley Creamery on the extras list!! We have lots of different options from Apple Valley, which is a small dairy and creamery in East Berlin. **BOTTLE DEPOSITS: There is a $2 bottle deposit no matter the size of the bottle. We've included the deposit in the price that you see on the list. Please return your bottle with something that indicates your name (like a post-it/ziploc bag with sticker, etc) so that we can correctly apply the bottle deposit back to your account! 

Speaking of dairy, various cheeses and pastured butter are back in stock from Chesapeake Gold Farm in North East MD.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST...THANKSGIVING TURKEYS!
Our friends at Nine Pines Farm are taking orders for turkeys right now! They range in size from about 12 lbs up to 30 lbs, and are available in two lb increments (12 to 14 lbs, 14 to 16, 16 to 18, etc). They're raised on pasture and fed non-GMO feed, and we'll deliver them to your pick up site, or you can pick up at the farm the week of Thanksgiving. $4.25 / lb.
