LAST CSA DELIVERY OF 2020

Posted on December 27th, 2020 by Sheila Dicks

The last CSA delivery of any year is always a time of gratitude and reflection, however 2020 has been a roller coaster ride of these emotions!

It has been a year of many challenges, stress, growing, learning, and failed crops! One of those failed crops was carrots! We planted carrot seeds in Spring and again in Fall with little luck except for 2 short beds with sparse germination. With these short beds and with the addition of a harvest from one of our farmer friends at Goldbranch Farm we will have carrots in our last CSA delivery of 2020!

Carrot harvest always puts a smile on my face and I'm reminded of the words from a Canadian poet and fellow farmer Brian Brett "Farming is a profession of hope".

Hope is something we could all use a little more of going into 2021!
