Nothing to see here!

This is a very enjoyable time of year for us, especially when the weather is mild.  There is enough to do in terms of harvesting so that we aren't bored or idle, but there is very little pressure to plant or weed or any of the other myriad things that HAVE to get done TODAY during the regular growing season.  Pictured above is what happens to broccoli raab plants once they stop being harvested.  Not only are the flowers sublime on a sunny morning, but they are also beloved of honeybees and provide them (and many other insects as well) with a late season food source.

We started harvesting parsnips (pictured).

They'll be sweeter once we have a few nights colder than 26 degrees, but I just couldn't wait!
