I still have a lot of harvest to do outside, and the cold overnight temperatures caused the Brassica (Cabbage) family to develop their sugars for better taste as well as act as an antifreeze for the coming even colder nights! All of  the  fruiting crops are finished, yet we will still offer a few Tomatoes at the markets.

I want to finish digging Potatoes very soon.  Once the plants turn brown and die, the tubers underground grow larger in size; the trick is to dig up the crop before the plant completely dies off and gets blown away by the wind. At that point I can't find the tubers! Although the
Potato harvesting is hard work, I enjoy the task... It's like Christmas Morning. You never know what you are going to get!

This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:00. This is the last outdoor market, and Allen Street moves indoors next week. Thursday is farm pick up, and Saturday I am in the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery in Grand Ledge from 11:00-12:00 noon. I will deliver CSA share distributions and online pre orders at that time.I hope to see you soon!
