Farm Happenings for May 15, 2019

Posted on May 11th, 2019 by Stacey Taggart

Well, well, time is flying! We've only got 2 more weeks left of our Spring Greens share before rolling into our Summer shares.  The temps are warming up and some of our cool season crops are starting to go to seed already.  We enjoyed Bok Choy blossoms in our salad for lunch today and they were deliciously sweet!  Perhaps we'll offer that for an offering in the future... they were tasty and beautiful in our salads.  :)

This was our first year growing and producing so early.  We're excited to get more hoophouses so we can grow more and more earlier (and later) than ever!  At the farm front, we're planting (and weeding!) like crazy getting already for the bounteous summer months.  We've been germinating many seeds on our own and the Split Mountain Garden Center here in Jensen has started much of our peppers, tomatoes and eggplant plants.

But before we get too much on summer, we've still got lots of Spring Greens to enjoy!  Hope you have a great rest of the weekend and we'll see ya soon at pickup!
