The days are getting shorter...

We’ve become so aware of the natural world around us since we’ve started this business… Before I didn’t know (or didn’t care, really) about what the sun was doing… it didn’t seem to affect me at all.  Now it affects us a lot… And I love being more in tune with the sun and the seasons.  For example, we know when the intensity of the sun starts waning as we get closer to fall, that the plants start slowing down their growth. That’s good because it also slows down the growth of the weeds!!  But we need to be aware of that to make sure we have enough lettuce for our salad mix and plan accordingly… The time for starting seeds and planting is long gone… With the sun getting lower in the sky each day, it signals a shift that we need to make, both with our business but also in life. Time to start slowing down… Thankfully, to everything there is a season... And speaking of seasons, this is our second to last week of summer.  Where has the time gone?! Thank you so much for being with us this Summer!

In other news, Rick Bell of Boot Hill Farms is taking order for Turkeys for Thanksgiving or Christmas, so go ahead and get in touch with him if you'd like one.
