Summer Week #2 - Black Bean Salsa & Pink Pickled Turnips

Posted on June 17th, 2021 by Mason Taggart

Hopefully everyone is surviving the heat alright... :)  We're shifting our days to get outside earlier so we can get the work done before it gets too hot. Haha! A lot of the garden is happy, happy, happy about the heat wave...  The peppers are LOVING it!  The tomatoes seem to be enjoying it as well and we have lots of green bean plants popping up that seem to love it too.  The spring greens on the other hand are not so happy, but that's to be expected this time of year.  :)

New this week is beets and green onions!  And we have some delicious prepared foods options for you this week too:  Pink Pickled Turnips and Black Bean Salsa!  If you think you don't like turnips, try them pickled.  They are sweet and crunchy with a bit of kick too.  SO good!  And the Black Bean Salsa is a little something we've been playing with since our homemade Salsa stores are starting to dwindle - perhaps we love chips and dip a little too much... :)  It's made with onions, cilantro, HFG pepper mix, and HFG salsa. Yum, yum!! It's going to be another delicious week!
