The Fall Season Arrives at Village Farm!

Posted on September 21st, 2023 by Nathan Cross

The Autumnal Equinox is a couple days away and temperatures are still reaching the 90s, but the fall growing season is upon us here at Village Farm! While most of our harvests currently consist of summer crops such as okra, eggplant, peppers, and long beans we have also begun harvesting arugula and radishes, the first 'cool season' crops of the fall.

As we move into October, the field will be planted out with more and more cool season crops such as, kale, swiss chard, broccoli, cauliflower, pac choi, mustard greens, beets, carrots, and a variety of others. October is also the official beginning of our Fall-Winter Season Share for members of the public who are not residents of Harvest Green. Tuesday, October 3rd is the first day of this share and it continues through the end of March encompassing a long window of cool season crops.

For residents of Harvest Green, the fall is also a great time to join the Vegetable Share and you can sign up at any point! As always, resident shares come with free home delivery on Thursday and a discounted rate of $21/week.

Sign-ups for both options can be found through the following link:
