Friday is CSA Da! For those that haven't heard of CSA Day it is a North American wide celebration of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). It takes place every year to kick off the prime sales window for harvest box programs like ours. CSA's have been a critical part of keeping small family farms alive for decades.
2020 will see an increase in the price per dozen for our eggs to $6.50 per dozen. This is largely due to increases in feed and bedding costs, as well as a small increase in the total cost to brood the chicks out to laying age. This price increase brings us in line with other pasture based egg producers selling into Calgary.

As we mentioned in an earlier email this year, Happiness By The Acre is not going to be growing for a vegetable CSA in 2020. We are focusing on pasture based livestock and egg production. That said, we still have two CSA programs for our customers. First, our weekly and bi-weekly pasture based egg shares that many of you are participants in. Second, our new pasture based meat bird share.
CSA Day & Spring Sign-up Offers:
Sweeten the Deal Offer: When you sign up for 2 or more egg shares, or if you are already a subscriber and increase to 2 or more dozen per week, you get a free jar of Mob Honey. This offer kicks off Monday, but continues until March 19th, 2020.
Farm Tour Offer: Sign up for any of our CSA options (eggs or meat birds) and you will automatically be registered for a special farm tour on Open Farm Days on August 15th, 2020. The tour will include extras just for our customers. This offer runs until March 19th, 2020.
Instagram Giveaway:
We are running a special giveaway on our Instagram account on Wednesday, February 26th, 2020. Valued at over $100, it contains: 2 Large Jars of Raw Honey from MOB Honey, a $25 Gift Card for MOB Honey's online store, and a $40 gift card for the Happiness Farm Store online.

From Monday the 24th until end of the 28th we are offering early bird pricing for our eggs. Existing customers and new customers that sign up prior to February 28th will get the eggs at our current price of $6.00/dz. until October. For those of you already subscribed you will continue to pay $6.00/dz until October 2020. Our price at markets and in the farm store will also be increasing to $6.50/dz.
