Happy February Everyone!
This is usually the month where the farm starts to get going on planting seedlings and ordering seeds. This year is a bit different, we are not running the market garden for 2020. This is a big decision that we did not make lightly, but with our ongoing work with livestock taking up more of our time the gardens have been suffering for lack of attention. If you enjoyed our vegetable CSA last season we can put you may be interested in checking out YYC Growers & Distributors for your veggie needs.
In place of getting veg going we are busy planning our meat bird and egg layer vision for 2020. We are going to be doing two batches of chickens this season, so if you are interested in getting pasture based local chicken just sign up for our Meat Bird CSA. We have lots of space still, so now is a good time to sign up.
CSA Day
February 28th is the official CSA Day. If you haven't heard of CSA Day it is a big online celebration of local food and community supported agriculture (CSA) programs around North America. Our farm will be participating this year so keep your eyes open for some specials we will be offering towards the end of the month.
