Farm Happenings for January 29, 2021

Happy Polar Vortex!

It seems we are finally in for some proper winter weather! We hope you are all staying warm and safe as winter finally makes an appearance here in Southern and Central Alberta. With the new year well under way we are in the midst of planning and prepping for the coming season of grass and green, and dreaming of the scent and sight of pasture.

Delivery

We are still doing home delivery only at this time. For the month of February we will continue to deliver for free as our part to help ease the burdens of Covid-19 safety measures. As the weather is cold, we request that you leave out a cooler or ice chest with a bottle of warm water inside to help keep eggs from freezing. If you have delivery bags, please leave them out. Our bags are good until about -15C with a bottle of water inside for 4 hours, but after that you risk eggs freezing. An ice chest with a water bottle will be much safer for your eggs.

As the winter roads are slower driving, we have had to expand out delivery time range from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm in order to navigate the icy side streets and snowy days. In really bad weather we may need to delay delivery to keep everything safe.

New Web Store Coming

We are working on our new web store and are hoping to have it up and running in February. This should make it easier for you to purchase our grass fed and pasture raised products - in particular our whole chickens. We will also be partnering with some other farms to bring an expanded range of local grass based products. In particular we are looking to work with Little Loaves Farm, Thompson Small Farm, and The Alberta Yak Company to bring wonderful and flavourful yak and pork products to you.

Upcoming Customer Survey

Sarah has been prepping a customer survey for all of our 2020 customers. It will be heading to your inboxes next week. If you have time please do fill it out so we can adjust our business practices to help better serve you, our patrons.

Locally Yours,
