Farm Happenings for May 4, 2021

Posted on May 2nd, 2021 by Brad Gritt

I hope that all of you who received your first deliveries last week enjoyed everything in your shares. We are certainly excited to be back in CSA season here at the farm. We enjoy having the fresh produce around as much as you all do.

Some new products coming on this week include turnips, beets and radishes. We have also partnered with Arbaugh Farms out of Alderson, WV to include cornmeal and grits in the shares this season. We will have bloody butcher cornmeal, yellow cornmeal, and white grits all available for shares this week. One thing to note if you receive any of these is per Julian's recommendation, it is best to store them in the refrigerator to help extend the shelf life of them.

We still have a couple tables left for our mothers day brunch coming up on Sunday May 9th at 1 pm. If you haven't ever attended one of our dinners, this is always a fun one. Chef Jesse Lyons of Cocos in Charleston will be back again this month to cook for this dinner and the menu looks great. For more information on the dinner and to purchase tickets, visit this link: https://tickets.grittsfarm.com/#/event-list

Our greenhouses are full of flowers in addition to all the produce we are growing for all your mothers day needs as well. As a csa member, you receive a 10% discount on any purchases at the farm or capitol market so be sure to mention it at checkout to receive your discount.

I hope everyone has a great week and as always if you have any questions or concerns always feel free to reach out.
