Farm Happenings for April 27, 2021

Posted on April 22nd, 2021 by Brad Gritt

Good Morning Farm Family,

The time has finally arrived for the first week of the 2021 Farm Share season! We are so excited to be back providing you with the produce and offerings from our farm as well as some new additions for this season. One of the newest offerings we have that we plan to include in everyones share this week is a 4oz bag of our very own Bob's Breakfast Brew. We have collaborated with Coal River Coffee Company in St. Albans to create this blend and we think its some pretty tasty coffee.

In addition to the coffee, we have also connected with Sugar Bottom Farms to provide honey this season, Black Oak Holler Farm to provide pork products (Pork Chops, Shoulder steaks, sausage, coppa, and boston butt.) In addition to pork, we are finalizing some work to offer beef and chicken this year as well.

Here on the farm, we are picking red tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, green tomatoes, lettuce, kale, and spinach this week. We also have some beautiful flowers we will be offering in shares this week, along with herbs. We have more product coming in the following weeks as well. As we speak we are working diligently with mother nature to take it easy on what appears to be a good crop of strawberries barring any setbacks with this cold weather we are currently experiencing.

I hope you all had a great winter. We welcomed the 5th generation to the farm on December 17th, 2020 with the arrival of Teagan Ann Gritt. 2020 was a wild and sometimes gloomy year so why not brighten it up by getting married and having a kid right?

As always feel free to reach out with any questions on concerns. Thank you all in advance for supporting our farm through our farm share program and all the other ways you all support us.
