First Winter Box of 2021

Posted on November 18th, 2021 by Brigid Ferkett

The farm is quiet these days. There is less traffic on the road, and the colors have dulled to mostly browns and grays.  The sheep are all tucked in with their hay in the front pasture this year. If you drive by you can see the entire winter's worth of hay laid out for them. The only thing we are still harvesting from the vegetable fields are the kale and brussels, and leeks. The greenhouse and high tunnel still have a couple of things in them, but mostly they are resting.

But while it is quiet outside, we are busy cooking and resting, cleaning and spending time together. We are excited to be sending our oldest, Leila, on a year long exchange next year through Rotary, destination to be determined. We have chosen not to attend any markets again this year as it never seemed worth the time and cost.

Instead, we are excited to launch this new style of local food delivery! Harvie has made it possible for us to make it easy for you, our customers. We have stored produce available right now, plus some fresh new items picked for you, like kale. The salad turnips are absolutely perfect.

Once again we've partnered with Katy from Purslane Farm to bring you her butternut squash, shallots, and mixed bags of potatoes. Along with all this great produce you will find our lamb, and honey and maple syrup from other local farms.

You can add extras onto your box!

If you order a box, please note:

There is a delivery fee for home delivery and you must have a cooler or other insulated container out for us to put your items in.

There is not delivery fee if you choose to pick up at the farm, or if you choose The Revival for your pick up spot. The Revival is a women's clothing store on Fulton Street and the owner, Brooke has offered to host our boxes from 4-6pm.

Your boxes will be labeled with your name and a list of contents.
