We ❤️ Tomatoes

Have you been wondering what types you may be getting with your share?  We've created a labeled photo that names quite a few of the ones we're growing this year.  Minus the cherry tomatoes.

What have we been up to?  Well, lots and lots of harvesting!!! We've also started the Farmers Market again and will be doing share pick up at the market this week.  Keep an eye out for another email with details on where we'll be located this Saturday so you can grab your share from us at the Farmers Market.

We're collaborating with Molly from So Long Cookie to offer her delicious short bread cookies as extra items this week.  You can find the Lemon Verbena Short Bread Cookies and a semi-sweet Rosemary Short Bread Cookie on the list.  The cookies are made with Flat Tack Farm Herbs.  We will also be doing more collaborations with local small businesses coming up.  Next week you can find our Buckman Brines / Flat Tack Farm Fermented Goodies!  More info on that will come next week :)

We're getting a handful of ripe watermelons and sweet melons.  Because it's so hard to predict how many we will have, we will be selling them as extras at our Farm Stand on Friday's.  We will also have a handful of super hot peppers available from our green house crop for all of you chili heads.  Back on this week's list is also carrots!!!  Finally!!! We had a few mishaps this season with our summer carrot crop.  The first sowing didn't germinate!  It could have been the heat, not enough water, or bad seeds.  Anyhow, we had to reseed them a second time and changed up our watering from drip to sprinkler to make sure they were moist enough for the 2+ weeks it takes for them to germinate.  If you've ever tried growing carrots in your own garden, you probably know our pain!  They can be a challenging crop to grow.  We always use a lot of compost on top of the bed before seeding to help hold in the moisture.  This last bed didn't have quite enough, so we re-topped it up before seeding them again.  Always room to learn new tricks!

We hope you are all enjoying summers plethora of veggies. Hope you have a happy Labor Day and see you this weekend.

Your Farmers,

Kelly & Patrick
