What's in the Box?

Our red cabbage is completely beautiful and tasty with its subtle spice and big crunch.  Green cabbage is on route in another week or two.

The butternut squashes are pretty adorable.  I meant to grow mini ones but not quite as mini as they turned out.  I'm not mad though, a squash all to myself for dinner is a pretty good deal.

We are about two weeks until the end of ginger season so get it while the getting is good!

Sweet potatoes need another week or two to cure but are coming.

ON THE FARM

The garlic is planted!  We put in enough for about 6,000 bulbs every fall, as well as a half bed of the tiniest cloves to become spring green garlic.  It's our last big planting for the season and every year I'm certain we won't get it in, and then every year we speed through planting in about half a day.  Go figure.

We also did our final planting of lettuce, cilantro, and a few other goodies.  These seeds will pop up, hibernate and begin to grow again in February.  Plants are the coolest.

Ruby had her third birthday this week.  I can't really believe it.  She is the funniest, sweetest little monster ever and it is such a joy to be her mom and to have her on the farm while we work.

That's all for now and happy eating until next time,

Tamara
