What’s in the Box?
The asparagus is finally abundant. We *may* have more available then what we are putting up now, and if we do we’ll update it on Monday and let you know. Estimating how much produce will be available in the future is a tricky business!

This week the arugula, baby kale, bok choi and butterhead lettuce are also abundant while there is almost no spinach and less lettuce-mix then normal. The spinach and lettuce mix for the following week look amazing so we’ll be back on track in no time.
The first beets and baby fennel will be ready in a week or so.

On the Farm
We spent a good chunk of the week getting beds ready for all the hot crops scheduled to go in next week. This means that come Monday there can be a HUGE push to plant all the peppers, eggplant, squash, and melons, as well as the second round of cucumbers and tomatoes. I’m near giddy with the thought of getting all that good food in the ground.

We also moved our piggies back out onto pasture. I’m not a livestock person and the idea of moving 4 intensely strong, stubborn, and very fast eating-machines several hundred feet across the farm stresses me out. Luckily, we had some amazing help (thanks again Carley), and it went smooth as silk. The pigs seemed delighted to be back on grass and have lots of new ground to root around in.

That's it for now, happy eating until next time.
