What’s in the Box?
GUYS – the watermelons are ready! The season will be short and sweet so get them while they are here.

On the Farm:

Fall veggies are looking FIIIIINE!
We’ve got great germination on the carrots and beets (our two main fall root veggies). We’ve got 10 beds of each and we managed to get them all weeded this week. I cannot begin to describe the feeling of relief. Of course, we’ll need to weed them twice more, but the getting the first one done on time is critical and WE DID IT!

The sweet potatoes are vibrant and turning into a sea of shiny leaves, just as the squash vines are just starting to die back and reveal their bounty. The brassica’s too (the broccoli, cauliflowers, cabbage and kohlrabi), are looking lush and lovely. We’ll be eating well all year. Stay tuned for some email next week about registration for the Winter Veggie Share.

That’s all for now folks!

Happy eating until next time,
Farmer Tamara
