Autumnal Equinox 2021

Posted on September 22nd, 2021 by Angela Bedient

It's officially fall and it sure feels it.  With the weather change we tend to be scurrying around.  Harvesting and harvesting and harvesting some more.  Preparing for what's to come.  We are certain we will have some more sunny days and more days to prepare, but this time of year we definitely take the ones we get, when they are here.

The boxes continue to be filled with variety and abundance!  Thank you all who are partaking in the FALL SHARES!  We still have the ability to fill a few more each week, so be sure to tell your friends that they too can be still enjoying freshly harvested items each week.  Items are harvested the day before your delivery (sometimes the same day!) and you, as a HARVIE box customer receive the first and best picks!  This week Swiss chard and spinach are still available along with peppers, tomatoes, squash, beans, garlic, eggplant, leeks and more!  We will even have mixed greens again in the upcoming weeks!

We have not yet opened up a winter box, as we are not sure if we will have the variety to offer.  We have thought about offering what stored items we have beets, potatoes, carrots, garlic, onions and squash along with our honey, syrup and meat offerings.  Let us know if you'd be interested in doing so or if you'd want to piece order from the BEDIENT Farms site and start back up with boxes for spring.  We do believe we will have a earlier start this year, now that we kind of know what we are doing and planning for :).

Thank you again for supporting our family farms and please, feel free to drop us a note with your thoughts on a winter box vs. piece shopping.
