2nd to last week! CSA deliveries end the week before Thanksgiving

Posted on November 5th, 2023 by Teresa Kurtak

Thank you so much to those of you who made the trip out to the farm last weekend for our Farm Field Day.  Farms like ours wouldn't exist without folks like you who go to the extra effort to keeo so many of your food dollars local.  It was lovely to match faces to names and share a bit of the farm with you.  We're excite to do it again next July when the strawberries are in full swing.

DON'T FORGET TO BRING BACK YOUR REUSABLE MESH BAGS SO WE CAN KEEP THE REUSE CYCLE GOING!

FARM UPDATES: A heavy frost knocked out many of our last summer crops this past week.  Basil, summer squash, green beans are no more.  A few final peppers are left to be picked from our high tunnels, but that's it.  We are fully in Fall/Winter cropping mode now.  To the left, Sam and Mike teamed up, dualing tractor style, to make the most beautiful strawberry beds we've ever had.  Next year's strawberries will be planted this week or next.  The flower field has been tilled in and this week's big task will be starting to sow cover crop on all the open ground.  All the apples have been picked and are in the cooler.  All the dry beans are under cover.  We're almost ready for the rains and a slower pace.
