Pictured above, Juan Carlos in the Sugar Snap Pea tunnel trellising the vines.  They look beautiful this year!

This week's quick reminders:

*It's a Markegard Meat Delivery this week.  The loaf from Companion this week is "pumpkin seed". (scroll all the way to the bottom to see meat, bread, and other extra items.

To try to keep your product in the best state possible we are packing dry goods like onions, shallots, canned goods etc. OUTSIDE the plastic liner bag in your box.  Please don't forget to check that you have everything in your order before you leave your pick up site.  We found some unclaimed items we assume were accidentally left last week.  If something is missing, snap a picture of the checklist on the front of your box (each packer has their own color).  That way we can try to track down the mistakes so they don't happen again.

Help us reduce plastic waste:  We know these mesh bags are far from ideal for the planet and we continue to look for better solutions, but at present for a select few items, they remain the best option.  That said, take note that we do our best to tie them shut with a slip knot so they can be untied and reused.  If you don't rip a hole in them, you can put them in the "Return Mesh Bags Here" bin at your pick up site and we will keep reusing them :)  If we can't recycle we can at least reuse.

Field Updates:

This week's big push after last week's sowing and transplanting of the winter squash is getting all the dry beans sown.  And... keeping up with weeding all the stuff we've been transplanting over the last few weeks.  Go go go tractor team!!  We've added fennel, kohlrabi, and more strawberries to the available product this week.  Yum.
