Not the greatest photo, but what a surprising sight it was to see this unusual rainbow on a nearly clear sky.

Farm Update:

Coming soon.. Spring onions, potatoes, and cucumbers are almost ready.  Your apples and raspberries are all growing as quickly as the daylight hours will allow.  Most everything that will be in this season's CSA boxes (excluding the super quick stuff like salad greens) have been sown in the greenhouse.  Come mid-July or so we will start sowings that will take us into Winter.

Meet Your Farmers:

This is my husband Mike, myself (Teresa), and our kids Charlie and Ellie.  We're one, of the two owner families of Fifth Crow Farm.  We both came to farming in different ways- Mike was took a summer job to take a break after college and I had entomologist parents turned farmers.  Neither of us imagined this would be our career until after college, but here we are some 15 plus year in. We met at a farming conference and got married 7 years into our farming career here on the farm.  I think it's safe to say we're in this for the longterm ;)  When we aren't farming, we're gardening, crafting, and building things.  As a family we cherish the luxury that our kids spend so much time outdoors and hope that this will leave them with a long-term love of nature and sense of connection and belonging in the out of doors.

Tip of the Week:

Looking for more ways to reduce waste going into the dump?  We tie these mesh bags with a slip knot so you can easily undo them instead or rip them open.  Bring them back and leave them at your pick up site in an empty bin and we will reuse them.  Also, please do return your re-usable mesh bags so we can keep them cycling through the CSA and reduce our use of plastic bags.
