Howdy CSA Members,

REMINDER: If you don't want anything that's in your box you can swap it out for other items you do want...

As the season picks up steam we know you may be getting a bit bored with all the myriad types of kale.  Good news!  The seasons are a changing and you will be seeing more and new things every week.  This week we've added the first Spring broccoli.   The summer squash is producing more so more of you will get that as well as the first of the Spring planted beets. The first variety to be ready is Forono- it's a cylindrical beet or "pickling beet".  Fits nice and tidy  in a jar if your into that sort of thing.  It also happens to be sweeter generally than a standard red beet.  I've offered a few fennel this week- by next week there should be heaps.  Carrots should be ready and available weekly in another 2 weeks or so.  Cucumbers are just starting to set, but they grow quick, so we should see those in a couple weeks too.

Hope you all are figuring out ways to enjoy the beautiful summer weather despite the Pandemic- and keep safe those of you who are adding your voice to the protests.  Hope we can be a part of keeping you healthy and happy in these trying times. Not a great photo.. but thought you might enjoy a picture of our barn swallow hatchlings.  Plump, quiet, and very attentive watchers of everything we do ;)
