Week 4: Snowy Farm Fields!

Posted on December 4th, 2018 by Featherstone Farm

It's snowy, grey and very much winter on the farm, and it sure feels like the holiday season, indeed!  We had good timing, before this first real snow fall of the year, as late last week we got straw mulch on our strawberry patches for protection over the winter.

Mulch getting laid down on our strawberry field.

All our beds are resting nicely for the winter!

With a snowy layer covering our berries, and all our fields, we're now deep into the winter warehouse wash and pack and office crop planning season.  Can you believer it's only 3 months before we start to seed our plants for 2019?  So while winter may seem long, you only need to think of us already planning for spring to help it along!

As we all enter into the coldest and darkest time of the year, we wish you all warm meals and bright holiday cheer!

Gratefully,
