Farm Happenings for June 10

All: If you are not signed up for a share, but are a "Farm Stand" subscriber, you can order a box with all the extras we have available.

Regular customers: We are near our peak of variety, especially with the spring crops being delayed and our summer crops coming on fast. I highly recommend making good use of the "Swap" function to make sure you are getting what you want, details here: Harvie Swap "How-To"

I've been working with a blueberry farm in Goshen for years, and it now has a new owner. I hope business continues as well as the past. The good news is they have moved from the old "unsprayed berries" to organic. Blueberries are offered under Extras. I should have enough pints for everybody, and some gallon quantities are likely available.

Snacking cucumbers were added, these are cute baby cukes. Harvie can't differentiate between whether you want regular cukes or the snacking ones, so once again... Swap.

Also added Dandelion (Greens). These are cultivated, not wild. Bittersweet, one of my favorite veggies. You might update your Preferences if you want them, or are getting them when you don't want them.

And the farm is in full swing now. Our workers are no longer asking for more hours. Transitioning one large section from the spring greens to be ready for planting sweet potatoes at the end of the week (this is primarily done by covering in a very large piece of black plastic, which kills most everything underneath it in this summer sun).

Harvie reports that customer support has been incredibly slow the last couple months, but they have been investing a lot into returning to the fine service they apparently provided last year.
