As we approach thanksgiving, the weather has turned and it's cold! Each morning this week the grass was a frosty white and our mornings have been filled with jobs to keep the crew warm, mainly brush clearing and bulk harvests. How’d it get to be November? Coulda sworn that yesterday was mid September. Sure felt like it too, with the afternoons in the mid 60s I found myself in shorts and a t shirt by the afternoon. Farm Happenings-November 4th 2022
This week the crew pulled tomato and pepper plants from the fields and greenhouses, getting ready to prep the beds for winter. About the farm
The Dickinson College Farm is an eighty-acre, USDA-certified organic farm and a living laboratory where students can gain distinctive, hands-on learning experiences. Student employees, graduate apprentices and volunteers are involved in all aspects of food production and research. The farm serves as a venue for the Dickinson community and its neighbors to experience a holistic approach to land stewardship rooted in management practices that work to sustain the natural environment.
