Farm Happenings for October 17, 2023

Posted on October 13th, 2023 by Alex Smith

Hey All,

Sorry for the late email. I got wrapped up in prepping the garlic ground this morning. As I type, the whole team is out there planting next years garlic (pictured).

Unfortunately, today is the day we say "see ya next year" to our tomatoes. The cool nights are the perfect environment for the diseases that plague modern tomatoes. It's how almost all organic tomato crops end. We will pick a few more for our own internal processing, but starting Monday we will cut down the vines, and plant the field into cover crop for the winter.

There is lots of great Fall produce coming in hot right now. This week we picked tons of green cabbage, purple cabbage, napa cabbage, and cauliflower. We have some clean broccoli now as well.

Enjoy!

Alex
