What's orange and sounds like a parrot?

Posted on December 6th, 2021 by Will Nelson

With December upon us, we are working hard to get the remaining storage crops out of the fields. Beets, turnips, and radishes have been pulled and are now safety stored in our coolers. All that is left are the carrots, but man, oh man there are a ton-literally!! Will outdid himself this year on carrots and the bounty is bountiful!!

We are grateful to our students, volunteers, and recently departed apprentices for the many hours they have spent helping to pull these beauties from the earth. The latest harvests have yielded ginormous carrots that are sweet and crisp. These are destined for CSA shares, the dining hall, and farmers' market but first we have to find space to store them in our coolers!!

If you want to stock up on our 2021 carrots, you won't be disappointed!! At our house, we have been juicing them weekly for extra doses of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Please let us know if you want to place a bulk order before the CSA season ends.
Wishing you all the best,
Jenn
