Farm Happenings for September 1, 2020

Posted on August 28th, 2020 by Will Nelson

*PLEASE REMEMBER TO RETURN YOUR CSA BAGS EACH WEEK. THANK YOU!*

A running joke on the farm: 2 weeks ago, one of our apprentices bravely claimed the weather wouldn’t reach over 90 again this summer— boy, was she wrong! Indeed it was another hot week on the farm, but our entire farm crew is up to the challenge! We were joined by awesome new student farmers and some CSA members (we’re always open to more help!).

Highlights include: donating thousands of pounds of tomatoes, processing dried garlic for seed saving and eating, and selling out of over 90 pizzas at the Wednesday market! We are sad to say goodbye to the season’s end of cantaloupe, watermelon, and cucumbers this week. The apprentices are at the halfway point in their apprenticeship and are looking forward to learning more on the farm and connecting further with the community!
