Update from Sugar Hill Farm

Sugar Hill Cranberry Co. is a small family cranberry farm located in the small downeast coastal town of Columbia Falls where we grow three varieties of cranberries (Pilgrims are primarily a juice berry and great for wine making; Stevens is the most popular variety, and Howes, an heirloom variety dating back to the 1860s) on 11 acres of bogs.

For your Thanksgiving feasting, John and Christine are harvesting Howes cranberries for you this week! Prior to moving to Maine in 1988, John and Christine, lived on 130 acres of cranberry bogs in Massachusetts' cranberry country and have brought their experience and love of cranberry growing to Maine in 1998. They incorporate both new techniques and some of the "old ways" that Christine's relatives did back in the 1940s-50s.
