It is starting to look like the Groundhog prediction will be be correct with the forecast we are looking at. Not much rain in the forecast either, which means we will be busy prepping for Spring plants to go in the ground. I love cold weather but typically by mid February I am ready for some warm sunshine. It won't be long and we will be planting some summer squash and cucs by seed, not a ton at first in case we do get that early March last frost, but enough that we can cover and protect. Changing of the seasons is always exciting for me, while it is a good bit of work, I like the change because it brings new varieties into the mix. We will slowly start seeing more and more options for your boxes as it warms up, thanks for being patient with it and understanding seasonal production.

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
