Farm Happenings for June 8, 2023

Posted on June 5th, 2023 by Grady Seale

We have not had any rain on the farm in a few weeks now, all of our crops have been getting watered from our wells but a little rain would really make everything jump. I have even been watering the roads to keep the dust down when we are moving vehicles or tractors around the farm! We are forecasted to get some this week so we will see. Heirloom tomatoes are looking good but they are still a lil ways out, we are picking a good bit of cherry tomatoes now and we should see some creole's soon as well. I made some BLT bites with our cherry tomatoes over the weekend and they were a hit! My kids also have a new favorite snack that I have been making for them in the afternoons. I slice a cucumber up in circular shapes like a cracker, then we put a small piece of cheddar cheese and then I cut up some cherry tomatoes, add a bit of salt & pepper to them and then put on top of the cheese and cucumber, its simple, delicious and they love it.
