We are planting our first batch of sunflowers this week! (5,000 seeds for 1st planting) Hoping they do okay with any other cold weather we get, once they germinate and are about 2 weeks out of the ground they can handle a light frost. Hard freezes will often zap them but we usually gamble on the first planting. Spring onions and green garlic looking good, but still need a few weeks. Chard, beets, and more cabbages are trying to get ready, A few new items made the list that I hope yall enjoy. We are steady planting and getting ready for spring veggies, just need that warmer weather to set in for a bit!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
