Hoping to have salad mix back in the saddle for a while now, our hydroponic producer(Salad Days) had an issue with their thermostat/controller that is now fixed. It was a very expensive fix for them and a shock on both the price and lack of product to be harvested. That's farming for you, it happens to everyone but I hope we are past it and you all can enjoy their wonderful products again. I spent some time in the fields and everything is starting to jump with this warmer weather, including the weeds! We were able to get another planting of beets/carrots in the ground and the newly sown seeds have gotten plenty of water from all that rain. We should start seeing some beets in early January, crazy the new year is just around the corner!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
