Week 15 Summer 2019 Vegetable Share- Cooper's CSA Farm Happenings

Posted on September 6th, 2019 by Coopers CSA Farm

No fancy pictures of produce this week. To have great produce and meats it takes a line of equipment that needs to be maintained and repaired. This is our son Trenton and one of his rolls since coming back to the farm is head mechanic. In the pic he's putting a new set of brakes on one of our delivery vans. No fancy shop for us, today the shop is on the front driveway with a 3 gallon bucket, tomorrow it might be in the middle of a field on a step ladder fixing a large hay baler, on the weekend he might be down at the pond "banging and clanging" on the irrigation pump.

  • Melons, Melons, Melons. Cantaloupe and Canary/Casaba are ready and plentiful.
  • Apples are back! We have Silken this week from Natures Bounty Orchard just outside of Port Perry. They grow a lot of the newer fancy type apples like Silken and Honey Crisp. We've pre ordered Honey Crisp, they're coming soon.
