Common Roots Urban Farm Newsletter #4

Greetings!

The beginning of summer has been kind to us. The nice weather has given some of our plants a good chance to take root and allowed others to catch up a bit from our extended cool spring. The abundant sunshine has our kale climbing and our tomatoes towering. It also means that some of the things you may have seen to begin the season won’t be seen until it starts to cool off a little bit (A long ways away).

We love having CSA pickups at the farm. It allows us to display our hard work and for our share members to appreciate THEIR farm. The neighborhood isn’t without its quirks, however. Most of the streets aren’t clearly labeled as one-ways and may lead to some confusion, so we thought we might be able to help. Coit Street is a one way heading south (towards William from Broadway), Peckham is a one way heading East (towards Fillmore from Smith) and Detroit is a one way going north (towards Broadway from William). Hope this can prevent any snafus.

Beginning in early July we will resume attending farmers markets. We are looking forward to meeting new people, seeing old friends and selling great fruits and veggies!

We hope you’re staying healthy in mind and body and continue to do so! See you at the farm.

Eat well and enjoy.
