Farm Happenings for June 1, 2023

Posted on May 25th, 2023 by Mike Finger

Greetings and Welcome to Cedarville Farm's CSA program, 2023. With this email arrives the first Harvest Estimate of the year, a list of the items you'll be receiving this Thursday, June 1st.  This list is based on your food preferences, as expressed by you when you completed the Preferences section of this year's sign up form. Didn't set your preferences? You can set / change them at any time by accessing the "Preferences" tab in your member page on Harvie. If you see items on this week's list you don't want, you might be able to swap them for other items we have available during the customization period, open now and until 11 p.m. Saturday, tomorrow evening.  We've also posted several items available for extra purchase only during the customization period, including eggs and fresh pasta. Pork Shares Please Note:  Your first delivery is June 8th.

Your Harvest Estimate (this email) will provide a description of your pickup location and the expected delivery time.  If you need help confirming your pickup location, or any other details of delivery or your account, please get in touch with us.  Very Important: Please Return Your Share Boxes each week you return to your pickup site for the next delivery. Fold them flat, without ripping or mangling them, and stack neatly at your pick up site. Speaking of pickup sites ~ Hooray for pickup site hosts! We can't offer this farmer to diner service without willing and generally cheerful pickup site hosts ~ Thanks and Thanks to all of you who've generously offered this support and service to our members.

If you forget to pick up your box, this week or in subsequent weeks, it will remain at your pick up site through Friday ~ though we can't guarantee the freshness / quality of the items in your share past the Thursday delivery date.

We hope you enjoy this first harvest, greens heavy as it is.  We have many other items growing along at the farm and will add them to our harvest lists as they appear. We also expect to purchase additional items from local growers and food producers and will be adding them to the weekly harvest lists as they become available.

Happy Salads!

~ Mike, Kim, and Crew
