And we hope you'll join us in celebrating Juneteenth, June 19th ~ the end of slavery in the United States. A great day in our history, though we all have more work to do to create a truly just and equitable society for all our citizens.
A sobering statistic: just after the end of the civil war, black Americans owned nearly 14% of all productive farmland in the U.S. Today the total extent of farmland in the U.S. owned by black Americans is below 1%.
