Farm Happenings for October 19, 2019

Posted on October 17th, 2019 by Janet Aardema

We've begun harvesting our Baby Ginger! Make tea, make candy, make cookies. It freezes beautifully and doesn't ever need any peeling because the skin is so thin.

Savor the summer crops because they are coming to a halt very soon. These lovely cool days feel great to us, but the Tomatoes, Peppers, and Eggplants don't like it.

We'll see some of you this weekend at our Farm Share Member Social! Details were sent in a separate email. RSVP's appreciated, but you are warmly welcome to simply show up if you are able. The current forecast is for some clouds and possibly rain, and we will roll with whatever the skies offer us. (We are so glad to have rain hitting our soils this week!) If it's chilly and/or wet, we'll have warm beverages and a fire burning. We'd love to spend time with you fireside with a warm mug of drink.

Enjoy your food this week and join us in embracing this fall weather!
