Farm Happenings for May 19, 2021

Posted on May 17th, 2021 by Janet Aardema

Here is your Farm Share email for this week! Spring is progressing nicely on the farm and we are happy with how most things are growing.

For some of our every-other-week members, this is your first share. Here's a repeat of information from last week's email to help everyone with the technical aspects:

MOST IMPORTANT Reminders: At our self-serve pick up sites, find the share WITH YOUR NAME ON IT, and then LEAVE US THE EMPTY GREEN BOX. You simply take the contents of the box, plus anything you've ordered that is packed separate from the green box (ie: Bread, Flowers, Eggs, Fermented Vegetables).

To get the most out of your Farm Share:
Each week that you have a share, you'll get this email. To make changes to your default share (configured by the system based on your preferences), you have to open this email and click on "Swap Items." We send this 2 days before your pick up day.
You can make changes until the time listed in the email (usually 6:00 am the day before your pick-up day).  (We harvest on Tuesdays and Fridays, so the emails represent our best projection of what we will harvest the following day.)

You can swap items for other items, and/or you can order extras of whatever is available.
Make sure emails from us land in your inbox, not Spam/Promotions, etc.

For Pick Up:
- Please remember to bring your own bags each week.
- At Self Serve locations: Our vegetables are in green plastic boxes at the pick up location, labelled with members' names. Find the box with your name on it. - Empty the vegetables into your bag and leave the empty, green box for us to collect.
- Loaves of bread, for those who have ordered one, will be near the green boxes, labelled with your name. Pick up your loaf if you are due one. (Some people have purchased a Bread Share for a loaf each week of the season. Some people order a loaf when they please.)
- At Staffed locations: One of us will be there to quickly gather your items for you to bag up and bring home.
- Preparation ideas and recipe suggestions are in your email! Also check out our Pinterest Page for lots of recipe ideas, organized by vegetable.

Finally, we have a Facebook group for our members to share recipes ideas, etc. Visit and join here

Any questions? Reply to this email and let us know how we can help you. We appreciate the opportunity to farm for you.

Thank you for being the most important part of our farm! We love you!

Best,
Janet, Dan and the whole Broadfork Crew (Julie, Karen, Rachel, Courtney, Maya, Nick, Parker, and the farm kids)
