Here's to 2021!

Posted on January 5th, 2021 by Janet Aardema

The farm is fairly quiet right now (relative to the flurry of activity during most of the year) and very, very saturated with water. We are not happy nor surprised that 2020 ended up as the 3rd wettest year in recorded history for this area. Do you remember what year was the 2nd wettest year? That would be 2018. The only year with more recorded precipitation was 1889. This farm is soaked!

We lost a few hundred Salad/Lettuce plants from all of this rain but those are only a portion of what we have growing so we still have plenty for you. Enjoy that and all of our other options!

Check out our Pinterest page of recipe ideas (organized by vegetable) for suggestions on how to prepare these goodies. And if you get stuck and need the simplest guidance, just remember that everything is delicious tossed in a pan with some fat (oil, butter, etc.) and salt.

Blessings on your meals, and KEEP ON masking up and washing your hands, plus staying home whenever possible ~

Janet, Dan, & the whole Broadfork crew (Julie, Caity, Karen, Diana, Rachel, and the kids: Sylvie, Joren, Elletta, and Beckett)
