Farm Happenings for September 4, 2020

Posted on September 2nd, 2020 by Christina Houston

Good morning and Happy Wednesday! It's super rainy out, today. We needed it for our crops, so it's a blessing. I hope all of you are careful in your travels today.

This is the last week for Penn Street Market, so we are super busy harvesting and preparing for that. The market is on 6th and Cherry street in reading from 10-2. Food Trust will hand out $6 in coupons to all who visit the market. These coupons are good on any produce on our table or Rodale Institute's table.  All our harvest has produced wonderfully. Our raspberries look amazing. We also have lots of green beans, again. There is only 1 item on the list that is from another local farm in Kutztown which is broccoli.  Everything else on our list is from our farm. We appreciate the support and hope to keep growing our CSA orders. We are considering running a new CSA for the fall, so please stay tuned for that.

The cutoff time to personalize your box is Thursday at noon. The boxes will then be prepped and ready by 2pm on Friday. You may pick up your box at your convenience after 2.

If you have any questions or need help please email me directly at chouston@bma.us. This will ensure your messages are answered in a timely manner.

Thank you for your support! I hope you got to see all our sunflowers blooming the past couple weeks. We have different fields blooming at different times and they're almost done.

Have a safe and happy week and weekend!
