Farm Happenings Week 18, 2020

Posted on September 25th, 2020 by Aspen Moon Farm

This is the time of year that it feels like we have everything.  Fall vegetables are so diverse.  Fall greens are back in abundance and we still have sweet peppers, tomatoes, and sweet corn.  It is a great time of year for hearty soup, a salad loaded with fresh chopped raw veggies, or the best stirfry you can dream up.   Spinach and Bok Choy are back along with their favorite cousin- Tatsoi (an Asian green with super nice unique flavor, kinda half-way between Spinach and Boc Choy).  Arugula, Spicy greens mix, and butterhead lettuce are growing quite well again with a little cooler weather.  Hakurei turnips, Radishes, and cauliflower are coming in too.  We just harvested the Popcorn crop today.  Popcorn grows just like sweet corn but it is a different variety completely.  More news on the process of the popcorn soon, as it will be several weeks before it is available for popping.
