About the Position

We are looking for motivated and self-sufficient individuals who want to work in a start-up food hub environment as Delivery Driver. As such, you’ll drive a Harvie-branded vehicle, delivering up to 80 boxes of produce, eggs, milk, cheese, bread, meat, flowers, and other locally made products to the greater Pittsburgh area.

You will be the face of Harvie as you step onto members’ porches and make their days with the box of goodies you’ve come to bring. We expect you to represent Harvie’s culture and values with every interaction you have along your route.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute up to 80 home deliveries a day, keeping to a consistent pace
  • Operate as a brand ambassador and align with Harvie’s culture and values when interacting with members and non members on delivery routes
  • Use integrated technology to guide and track delivery routes in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide detailed feedback to your team to help improve overall route performance
  • Work closely with the Member Relations team to problem solve day-of delivery issues, relaying pertinent information as you go
  • Occasional material pickups and storage management
  • When you’re not on the road, you’ll be available to help create customized farm shares for customers in our Pittsburgh warehouse space

  • Competitive pay starting at $21/hour

We’re in search of a full time Administrative Assistant with strong bookkeeping experience. As such, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, managing benefits, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will play a crucial role in supporting our finance and HR departments and helping us achieve our company goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including reconciliation of banks and credit card accounts
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and accurate recording of transactions
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax requirements
  • Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for annual audits
  • Work closely with other team members to identify process improvements and implement best practices
  • Accurately prepare and process employee payroll, ensuring timely and correct distribution of wages and deductions, while maintaining compliance with tax regulations and company policies
  • Manage implementation of benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, fielding employee questions and liaising with benefits providers to resolve issues
  • Handle employee leave tracking, including vacation, sick leave, and personal time off (PTO)
  • Assist in recruiting efforts by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding procedures, ensuring smooth transitions

About You:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in administrative support, including bookkeeping, payroll, and HR tasks
  • Solid understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and employee benefits administration
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • High proficiency in QuickBooks, Google Suite, and Xcel
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

About the Position

We are looking for hard working individuals who want to work in a fast-paced, efficiency-focused environment as an Outbound Team Member. Each week the Harvie crew works together in our Pittsburgh warehouse to pick and pack products from our farm and producer partners to create grocery boxes for customers. Products include produce, eggs, milk, cheese, bread, meat, flowers, and many other items to create a full grocery experience. Unlike a physical grocery store, all boxes are delivered to member homes, so you won’t have any customer interaction throughout your day. Steps for advancement on our hourly career ladder are discussed in regular one on one meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Pack unique grocery boxes with products in your zone based on member labels keeping up with the pace of pack with minimal pack errors
  • Inspect products for damage, flaws, and irregularities
  • Set up, locate, and extract products from shelves and storage areas using FIFO (first in first out); storage areas include freezer, cooler, and dry goods
  • Partake in the general and deep cleaning of the warehouse and break room areas
  • Perform warehouse duties using pallet jacks, following safety protocol
  • Adhere to state health and internal safety practices
